Busker's surprise duet with Chris Martin
A London street performer unknowingly played Coldplay with the band's frontman.
In brief
A London street performer unknowingly played Coldplay with the band's frontman. Sometimes the most magical moments happen by pure chance when the right person shows up at exactly the right time. Originally reported by Guitar World.
Busker plays Coldplay classic
South Korean singer-guitarist Hanny Junee was performing Viva La Vida in Trafalgar Square when an unassuming onlooker in a baseball cap joined in.
The stranger sounded too good
The voice was impressive, almost familiar. Junee thought the guy sounded remarkably like Chris Martin, but dismissed the idea as ridiculous.
“I thought: 'This guy has amazing energy, nice vibe and a really good voice, he sounds really similar to Chris Martin.'”
It was actually Chris Martin

The Coldplay frontman had been wandering London's streets that night and stumbled upon Junee's busking spot. He sang a verse, then vanished into the night.
Junee realized too late
By the time Junee figured out who the stranger was, Martin had already disappeared. The moment lasted only as long as one verse.
“Then he finished a verse and the next thing I know he's gone. It was magical.”
Perfect timing, perfect song
Viva La Vida was literally the last song in Junee's setlist that night. Had the crowd voted for a different song, Martin might have walked past without stopping.
“I was playing Viva La Vida as my last song at Trafalgar Square, and Chris Martin literally walked up and sang with me?!”
The key point
Sometimes the most magical moments happen by pure chance when the right person shows up at exactly the right time.
