Cory Wong's new signature model

Sterling By Music Man unveiled the StingRay II at NAMM 2026, a $749 double-cut guitar with dual humbuckers in Pearl Blue or Silver with a white pickguard.
Why humbuckers for a single-coil guy

Wong built his reputation on Stratocaster single-coils but wanted more fatness in his tone. He collaborated with Ernie Ball Music Man's R&D team to design a guitar that delivered the thickness he was seeking.
“I am known by a lot of people as somebody who plays a single-coil guitar. But there was a lack of just a fatness in some of the things I wanted to play.”
Built with quality components

The StingRay II features a caramelized maple neck bolted to a double-contoured alder body, with a rosewood fingerboard, locking tuners, and vintage-style tremolo.
Fender scale, Gibson radius

The guitar combines a Fender-style 25.5 inch scale length with a Gibson-style 12 inch fingerboard radius, giving players the best of both worlds in playability.
What you get for $749
Dual humbuckers with a three-way switch, volume and tone controls, and all the hardware mentioned above make this a lot of guitar for the price. Note: it does not include a gig bag.
