Georgia's top 10 QBs after Week 4
Four weeks of Friday nights have sorted the state's quarterbacks, and three new names just forced their way in.
In brief
Four weeks of Friday nights have sorted the state's quarterbacks, and three new names just forced their way in. The Georgia QB Index ranks who is playing best right now, not who was hyped in the offseason, so one huge Friday can flip the board. Originally reported by High School On SI.
One big night isn't enough

Four weeks into the Georgia season, single-game explosions no longer carry a quarterback. Trends have hardened into résumés, and the rankings now reflect that.
“a quarterback can no longer live entirely on one great Friday night”
How the index works

Rankings weigh 2026 production, efficiency, quality of opponent and team results. Last year's tape and recruiting stars don't hold a spot, and movement is shown every week.
“Who is playing quarterback best in the state right now?”
CJ Cypher holds No. 1
The Carrollton sophomore went 26 of 35 for 449 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-7 win over Hapeville Charter. The Trojans stay unbeaten and he stays on top.
Shumate keeps the race live
Monroe Area's Cooper Shumate piled up 465 total yards and six touchdowns in a 56-14 win over Flowery Branch. As a runner and a passer, he is still knocking on No. 1.
“His ability to take over games as both a runner and passer continues to make this a legitimate race for No. 1.”
Wiggins crashes the top three
Northeast sophomore Jordan Wiggins threw for 379 yards and six scores and ran for 115 yards and two more against Perry. That's 494 total yards and eight touchdowns, straight to No. 3.
“Nobody made a louder case this week than Wiggins”
Baxter's first-quarter blitz
Christian Heritage's Charlie Baxter went 11 of 13 for 219 yards and five touchdowns, all five in the opening quarter, in a 49-21 win over Chestatee. The team is 4-0.
“All five touchdown passes came in the first quarter.”
Frazier's brutal efficiency
Newton's Josiah Frazier threw five touchdowns on 11 attempts and ran for a sixth in a 70-14 win over Warner Robins. Eight completions, three carries, six scores.
“efficiency bordering on rude”
Tisdale does it both ways
Heard County's Ethan Tisdale threw two touchdowns and ran for three in a 46-6 win over Bowdon. The 3-0 Braves have a quarterback defenses have to account for everywhere.
McPherson slips without slipping
Thomas County Central's Aidan McPherson went 14 of 18 for 162 yards and three scores, plus a rushing touchdown, in a 35-7 win. He drops to seventh only because others went bigger.
“He isn't falling because he played poorly; three quarterbacks simply produced bigger Week 4 statements.”
Caleb Hill debuts at eight
Sandy Creek's Hill was 13 of 16 for 240 yards, four touchdowns and no picks in a 51-0 shutout of Fayette County. The 4-0 Patriots put him in the index for the first time.
Robinson keeps Westlake rolling
Cannon Robinson moved up to ninth as Westlake beat Northside 42-14 to go 4-0, throwing for 202 yards. The Lions have scored at least 35 points in every game.
Chatman's 80-yard dagger
Brookwood's Gary Chatman Jr. went 9 of 11 for 170 yards in a 27-21 win over Marist. His 80-yard fourth-quarter touchdown put the Broncos ahead for good and earned him No. 10.
Who fell off the board
Elam Rahman drops out despite North Gwinnett's unbeaten run, Kamden Patterson lost ground to an open date, and James Mobley slid after two picks in a 28-14 loss.
JR Harris is one Friday away
A week after a school-record 614 passing yards, Harris helped Central-Carrollton survive Houston County 73-66 in overtime. Another night like that and he's in.
“He may be one more big Friday away from forcing his way into the Index.”
The bottom line
The Georgia QB Index ranks who is playing best right now, not who was hyped in the offseason, so one huge Friday can flip the board.
