Meet Grounded, BEHR's 2027 pick

This soft, mossy olive with warm brown undertones celebrates the brand's 10th anniversary of naming a colour of the year. It's a nature-inspired hue that goes beyond trends.

“We're always searching for that perfect green tone. This is the perfect muted green.”

Why green rooms keep winning

Green rooms show no signs of slowing down. Grounded offers an earthier take on this enduring trend, with a cocooning quality indoors and sleek sophistication on exterior facades.

Transform your living room softly

White walls are classic, but Grounded offers softer depth without bold colour or pattern. Its earthy olive tone gives living rooms a relaxed, neutral feel that still brings character.

Layer it for luxury and depth

Try a monochromatic approach by colour-drenching walls and mouldings in the same warm shade. This creates a sophisticated, elevated look while keeping the space rooted in comfort.

“Colour-drenching the walls and mouldings in the same warm, enveloping shade gives the room a sophisticated feel while still keeping it wonderfully rooted in comfort.”

Pair it with complementary shades

Grounded is part of BEHR's 2027 Colour Trends Palette with shades like Hayloft and Hidden Gem. Layer these earthy tones together to create calming, nature-echoing depth in bedrooms and bathrooms.

Even kitchens and vanities work

Grounded proves colour can be neutral. Paint kitchen cabinets or a bathroom vanity to create subtle colour-blocked effects that shift the entire feeling of the space.

“The smallest design moves can have the biggest impact.”
