Woman found dead

Alisha Samuels, 26, was found with serious stab wounds in Manchester at 2am on Thursday.

Arrests made

Greater Manchester Police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of murder and two others on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police statement

Detective Inspector Paul Costello urged witnesses to come forward as police work to identify others involved.

“This was an awful and tragic attack, but I would like to reassure the community that we have three people in our custody, and my team are working tirelessly to identify anyone else who may have been involved.”

Witness accounts

Residents described hearing screams and a car crash before police arrived at the scene.

“I heard shouting and screaming. I went outside and saw all the police.”

Community reaction

A resident said the area is usually quiet, making the incident a shock after 30 years of peace.

“Believe it or not, I was telling my friend the other day that this is a quiet area. So, this has come as a bit of a shock.”
