Police Response

Broward County Sheriff's Office responded around 7:45 p.m. Friday to the 5300 block of NW 28th Street in Tamarac for a stabbing.

Reported Murder

Farfan-Cabello called 911 to report he killed his mother, saying he stabbed her about four hours earlier and tossed the knife into a nearby pond.

Discovery of Body

Deputies found Ylda Cabello-Ynocente's body stiff and cold in the home with a substantial amount of blood throughout the living room and kitchen areas.

Blood Trail Found

Investigators found a blood trail leading from the home to a neighbor's porch, with surveillance video showing Farfan-Cabello ringing the doorbell earlier that night.

Family Alert

Family members received a phone call from a relative in Peru saying 'something horrible had occurred' at the victim's home.

Text Message

Farfan-Cabello used his mother's phone to send a family group chat message saying 'she is dead' in Spanish.

Alleged Statement

Farfan-Cabello allegedly told a family member he killed his mother, saying 'I killed my mom. Yes. I was tired of her. She was bothering me too much, and I am here with God.'

Planned Burning

Farfan-Cabello said he planned to burn his mother's body but family convinced him to call police instead.
