Evenepoel secures fourth world time-trial title

Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel wins record fourth straight world time-trial title in Montreal, finishing a minute ahead of Filippo Ganna.

Evenepoel's dominant performance

Evenepoel, already an Olympic champion, has not lost a time-trial since the 2025 Tour de France and aims for a second road-race world title next Sunday.

Evenepoel's record-breaking achievement

Evenepoel becomes the first man to win the time-trial world title four times in a row, equalling the record number of overall titles held by German Tony Martin and Swiss Fabian Cancellara.

Evenepoel's next goal

Evenepoel aims to win a second road-race world title next Sunday, becoming the first man to achieve the double in the same year.

Women's time-trial results

Swiss Marlen Reusser retains her world time-trial title, overcoming a strong challenge from Zoe Backstedt to win by 40 seconds.

Reusser's nervous experience

Reusser, celebrating her 35th birthday, described the long time-trial course as 'nervous' and 'not 100 per cent sure' until the final hour.

“Apparently I coped well but it made me really nervous. I was really nervous and I was not really sure because we don’t have time trials like this often.”
