In brief
New standardised rate reduces previous charges and aims to streamline passenger pick-ups across Kuala Lumpur International Airport. KLIA now charges a flat RM2 for e-hailing pick-ups at both terminals, down from RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2. Originally reported by Malay Mail.
Flat RM2 fee now standard

KLIA charges RM2 for e-hailing pick-ups at both terminals starting today. This reduces the previous RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2.
Consistency for passengers and drivers
The single rate provides clarity for passengers and e-hailing operators. It supports a more streamlined pick-up experience across both terminals.
Driver compliance jumps to 99%
After Terminal 1 upgrades in August, 99.3% of drivers now exit within 10 minutes, up from just 49.4% before. Daily vehicle volume dropped 13.5%.
Peak capacity more than doubles
The enhanced system increased peak-hour processing from 302 to 660 vehicles per hour. This enables faster turnaround during busy arrival periods.
Reduced unauthorized vehicle activity
Improved control has cut unnecessary vehicle circulation and prolonged idling. Genuine passenger pick-ups still maintain smooth access.
New tech improves the experience
Terminal 1 upgrades include License Plate Recognition, passenger display screens, self-service kiosks, dedicated waiting areas, and on-ground marshals.
“Pick-up bays are clearing more quickly, while passengers no longer need to wait along a crowded kerbside.”
The short version
KLIA now charges a flat RM2 for e-hailing pick-ups at both terminals, down from RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2.
