A warning until 9pm

MetMalaysia issued a bad weather alert for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds covering seven states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, valid until 9pm on Sunday.
Kedah and Perak in the north
In Kedah the alert covers Kulim, Bandar Baharu, Baling and Sik. In Perak it covers Hulu Perak, Selama and Muallim.
The east coast is next
Kelantan's Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh are affected, along with a wide stretch of Terengganu: Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Nerus, Setiu and Besut.
Highlands and the Klang Valley
Cameron Highlands, Lipis and Jerantut are on the list in Pahang. In Selangor it is Hulu Selangor and Gombak, the districts that feed run-off toward the Klang Valley.
Sarawak's river towns
Across the South China Sea, the warning covers Sibu, Sarikei, Betong, Mukah and Song in Kapit.
What to do now
Residents in the listed areas are told to stay vigilant. Strong winds and heavy rain in a short window mean flash floods, fallen trees and slow traffic until the alert lapses.
“Residents in these regions are advised to remain vigilant”
In short
If you are in Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Sarawak or KL, expect storms and stay alert until 9pm.
