In brief

Netflix raises prices again

From September 2026, Netflix has lifted the price of every subscription tier in Malaysia. The new rates took effect immediately, with no grace period.

“The popular video streaming service has officially rolled out yet another price hike across all its subscription tiers in the country”

Premium takes the biggest hit

The top tier moves to RM69.90 a month, RM7 more than before. That is the steepest jump of the four plans.

The US went first

Netflix raised US prices back in March 2026. Malaysian subscribers have now caught up with the same round of increases.

Second hike in two years

The last increase was November 2024, when Premium went from RM55 to RM62.90. Less than two years later, it climbed again.

Every tier moved

Mobile is RM19.90 (up RM1), Basic RM33.90 (up RM4), Standard RM55.90 (up RM6), Premium RM69.90 (up RM7). The higher the tier, the bigger the bite.

Sharing costs more too

An Extra Member slot rises from RM13 to RM14.90 per month, per person. Standard allows one slot, Premium allows two.

A maxed out bill

Premium plus two Extra Member slots now comes to RM99.70 a month. The main account holder pays for all of it.

What each plan buys

Mobile is 480p on phones and tablets only. Basic is 720p on one device. Standard is 1080p on two. Premium is 4K HDR on four, with Spatial Audio.

Telco bundles are next

Astro, Unifi TV and other local providers bundle Netflix add-ons, and those packages will likely reprice soon. None have announced dates yet.

In short

Premium is now RM69.90 a month, and a fully shared Premium account runs RM99.70, so check what you actually watch before the next bill lands.
