Two officers still uncontactable

Two officers still uncontactable

Malaysia's Fire and Rescue Department says two of its officers remain out of contact after last month's flash floods in Rasuwa, Nepal.

Welfare becomes the priority

Director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad said JBPM has consulted the Public Service Department about the two men's salaries and pensions.

“We will refer the matter to PSD regarding their welfare”

One was days from retiring

Mohd Sani Harul, deputy director of the Planning and Research Division at JBPM headquarters, is due to retire on September 23.

The other had years left

Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa, an officer at the Central Region Academy, still has many years of service ahead of him. Their different stages complicate the payout question.

A trek that began Aug 24

The pair were among 10 Malaysians who left for Nepal on August 24, heading for Everest Base Camp.

55 Malaysians unaccounted for

The Foreign Ministry said 55 Malaysians remain uncontactable after floods and landslides across Nepal and China, with checks on each person still under way.
