Amazon discounts AirPods 5 on day one
Apple's new AirPods 5 are down to $124.99 on Amazon, a 3% discount from the $129 list price. This rare early markdown on unreleased Apple gear makes preordering feel more worthwhile.
Noise cancellation comes to base model
Unlike the previous generation, both AirPods 5 models feature active noise cancellation without a price increase. The base model includes 50% more ANC than AirPods 4, improved transparency mode, and updated adaptive EQ.
“unlike the previous gen, both [AirPods 5 models] feature active noise cancellation, but this doesn't result in a price hike.”
Spatial audio and AI features included
Both models get personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking for movies, music, and games. They also include live translation and hands-free access to the upgraded Siri AI via Apple Intelligence.
Base model trades wireless charging
The $124.99 base AirPods 5 come with a wired USB-C charging case instead of wireless charging. Battery life is up to four hours with ANC, or 20 hours total with the case.
