Salesforce goes down at worst time

Salesforce's enterprise software stopped working on Wednesday morning, right as the company's annual Dreamforce conference kicked off in San Francisco.
Outage hit around 3:50 a.m. ET
The Salesforce status page showed the software became partially inaccessible to customers around 3:50 a.m. ET on Wednesday, with errors and mishaps becoming more common than usual.
Problem lasted about three hours
By 7 a.m. ET, Salesforce had mostly fixed the issue. DownDetector showed error reports spiking at 3:50 a.m. and steadily dropping as the work day began.
Browser vendor caused the problem

Salesforce blamed an external vendor issue affecting Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Chrome 153 had an intermittent freezing bug that was fixed, while Edge 153's fix was still pending.
“The vendor has released a fix for the intermittent freezing issue affecting Chrome 153 version.”
Dreamforce is Salesforce's main event
Dreamforce acts as a major marketing tool for Salesforce itself. Having the flagship product stop working during the conference was particularly inconvenient timing for the company.
In short
Salesforce's enterprise software suffered a three-hour outage during its annual Dreamforce conference due to a browser vendor issue, highlighting the irony of a company's core product failing during its biggest marketing event.
