Abrams reaches 100 RBIs

CJ Abrams drove in his 100th run on Tuesday as the Nationals beat the Tigers 3-1. He's the first Nationals player to reach that mark since the 2019 season.

Historic triple-digit season

Abrams has 102 RBIs, 33 home runs, and 33 stolen bases this season. He's only the 12th player in franchise history to record 100+ RBIs and the first since Juan Soto and Anthony Rendon in 2019.

“He's a superstar in the making.”

Two homers power the win

Two homers power the win

Abrams hit two home runs against the Tigers, driving in three runs. His first shot traveled 418 feet to right-center field, and his second went 404 feet to right field with a runner on base.

August slump, September surge

Abrams hit just .173 with nine RBIs in August and went homerless from August 12 to September 6. He's bounced back strong, hitting .297 in his last nine games with three home runs and seven RBIs.

“Bad days may happen, but don't let them affect me tomorrow.”

All-Star shortstop leads NL

Abrams was named the NL starting shortstop for the All-Star Game and leads all National League shortstops in home runs, RBIs, and extra-base hits. He's the first Nationals player since Alfonso Soriano in 2006 to post a 30-30 season.

Manager sees bright future

Manager Blake Butera praised Abrams' all-around game, noting the combination of stolen bases, home runs, doubles, and RBIs. Butera said reaching 30 homers and 100 RBIs lifted a weight off Abrams' shoulders.

“I couldn't be more impressed with what CJ has done.”
