Judge sidelined with calf injury
Yankees captain Aaron Judge has a moderate grade right calf strain and will likely miss at least the Wild Card Series against the Red Sox, manager Aaron Boone confirmed.
“We're planning on him not being a part of that.”
Injury happened against Twins
Judge sustained the strain in his right calf's soleus muscle during last week's series against Minnesota. He says this spot is particularly important for running and hitting.
“is a little more crucial with running and hitting.”
Recovery timeline unclear

Judge received a platelet-poor plasma injection Monday and will have limited activities for several days with no running or jumping. Grade 2 calf strains typically take three to six weeks to heal.
Yankees managed without him before
Judge missed most of the summer with a fractured rib and played just seven games after returning in September. The Yankees have performed well without him and expect to win regardless.
“We've played much of the year without him, and for the most part, we've done a pretty good job.”
Other roster moves ahead
The Yankees plan to activate infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. between games of Tuesday's doubleheader. Right-hander Clarke Schmidt is undergoing imaging after biceps discomfort cut his warmups short.
The one thing
Judge's calf injury will keep him sidelined for at least the Wild Card Series, forcing the Yankees to rely on their depth despite losing their best player.
