Manager Murphy's stance
Manager Pat Murphy made clear that that’s subject to change, like anything in baseball.
Misiorowski's performance
Misiorowski threw 5 1/3 innings against the Cardinals on Sunday to complete a season in which he led the Majors in ERA (1.80), strikeouts (252), WHIP (0.80) and posted the lowest opponents’ average (.157) on record for a qualifying pitcher in a non-shortened season.
Henderson's workout
Henderson took the mound amid a much different atmosphere at an empty American Family Field on Tuesday to throw live batting practice during the Brewers’ first workout of their bye week.
Murphy's explanation
‘I think that pretty much everyone realizes that we’re going to go with Miz and Henderson predominantly,’ Murphy said. ‘It’s obvious they’re our two top starters right now, so it will probably be the way that we go.’

Murphy's reasoning
‘When you have a five-game series, you’ve got to decide how you want to line that up,’ Murphy said. ‘So there’s a lot more thought than just, ‘Well, those are their top guys, so they’ll go 1-2.’ There’s a lot more to it. You want to squeeze as much as you can out of your best guys, but you also have to read and react.’

Other pitching contenders
Left-hander Robert Gasser is another contender after he posted a 1.67 ERA in his final six outings, as is rookie lefty Shane Drohan in a shorter stint. And Murphy left the door open on Tuesday for left-hander Kyle Harrison to claim a spot on the NLDS roster with a strong performance during the team’s scrimmages this week.
Misiorowski's maturity
‘Nothing that he did on the field was as impressive to me as what he did off the field,’ William Contreras said. ‘There was a great level of maturity that was gained throughout the offseason. This year, he came in with a plan. He knew what he wanted to do. He came prepared each and every day. And I think we saw how that worked out for him.’

Brewers' postseason strategy
The Brewers will host the winner of the Cubs-Padres NL Wild Card Series.
