Man arrested for stalking podcaster

The FBI arrested John Anthony Proia III, forty-one, on Thursday and charged him with stalking Katie Miller, a conservative podcaster and former Trump administration adviser.

Victim is White House official's wife

Katie Miller is married to Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff for policy. The Justice Department initially did not name her in its announcement.

Over forty contacts in two months

Proia is alleged to have contacted Miller more than forty times in less than two months through calls, texts and voicemails with disturbing messages about her and her husband.

Messages to her parents too

The defendant also sent disturbing messages to Miller's parents during the August-to-September time frame, according to court documents filed in the case.

Calls made late at night

Miller sometimes received multiple communications from Proia in one day, including calls made late at night. The calls used a menacing tone and often included expletives.

Hateful messages to her parents

In one text to Miller's mother, Proia called Stephen Miller evil and Katie Miller a creature. To her father, he wrote about Stephen Miller being a Jewish Nazi and white supremacist.

“My god, how can you be proud of this filth?”

Hidden phone numbers used

Proia used an ever-changing series of unfamiliar phone numbers obtained through Voice over Internet Protocol applications that allow users to hide their identity and generate new numbers easily.

Grand jury indicts in Boston

A federal grand jury in Boston indicted Proia on Thursday on one count of cyberstalking after he was arrested earlier that day.

Katie Miller thanks investigators

Katie Miller posted on X thanking Attorney General Todd Blanche, U.S. Attorney Leah Foley and the FBI Washington Field Office for keeping her family safe.

“Thank you Todd Blanche, Leah Foley, and the FBI Washington Field Office for keeping me and my family safe.”

FBI officials demoted over delays

Bloomberg reported that two senior FBI officials in Washington were demoted and reassigned to headquarters due to concerns the agency was not moving efficiently enough to investigate the threatening calls.

In short

The FBI arrested John Anthony Proia III on Thursday for allegedly stalking Katie Miller, a conservative podcaster married to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, through over forty calls, texts and voicemails in less than two months.
