Fox News signs Trump's press secretary

Fox News announced Monday that Karoline Leavitt, former White House press secretary, has signed on as an on-air contributor to the conservative cable news network.
Youngest press secretary in history
Leavitt, twenty-nine, was President Donald Trump's top spokesperson and the youngest White House press secretary in American history until she stepped down in late August.
Why she left the White House
Leavitt gave birth to her second child in May and departed the West Wing at the end of August to spend more time with her young children and family, Trump said.
Trump's plans for Leavitt
Trump said on Truth Social that Leavitt will be one of his top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as they work to win the Midterm Elections.
“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”
Her role at Fox News
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt's White House experience gives her distinct understanding of today's political landscape. She starts November first providing commentary and analysis.
“Karoline's firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today's political landscape.”
Her record as press secretary
Leavitt was known for fierce defenses of Trump's record and occasional confrontations with political reporters in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room during her tenure.
Failed House bid in New Hampshire
In twenty twenty-two, Leavitt ran unsuccessfully for a House seat in her home state of New Hampshire, losing to Democratic incumbent Rep. Chris Pappas.
Following McEnany's path to Fox
Leavitt is not the first Trump press secretary to join Fox News. Kayleigh McEnany, who held the role from April twenty twenty through Trump's first term, joined Fox in twenty twenty-one.
The takeaway
Karoline Leavitt, the youngest White House press secretary in American history, has joined Fox News as an on-air contributor after stepping down in late August.
