State court blamed GOP official

The Missouri Supreme Court blamed Republican Secretary of State Denny Hoskins for proceeding with the GOP map in the August fourth primaries even though it had not been approved by voters.

Federal courts sided with GOP

Republicans sued in federal court and won backing from a federal judge and then a federal appeals court. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against Republican lawmakers Friday, overturning those decisions.

The short version

The Supreme Court blocked Missouri's GOP-backed congressional map three times, requiring the state to use 2022 and 2024 districts as voting begins in the midterm elections.
