Harbaugh on trade openness

Giants coach John Harbaugh confirmed the team is open to any trade calls from league contacts, even team owners.

“I left a message because you’re turning over every stone, going to try everything”

Harbaugh's message to Strunk

Harbaugh left a message for Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk after the team's light practice.

“We’re open for any call. Anybody who wants to call us or call anybody, call.”

Criticism for outreach

Harbaugh drew criticism from national talking heads for reaching out to Strunk without speaking.

No league rules

Harbaugh insists there are no rules specifying who can talk to whom in the league.

GM knows GMs

Giants general manager Joe Schoen knows all the league general managers.

Finding talent

Harbaugh and Schoen aim to find talent that fits the team in both short and long term.

No secret society

Harbaugh said the team is not part of any secret society agreement restricting communication.

“We’re not part of any secret society oath that says you can only talk to somebody”

Financial constraints

The Giants have limited draft capital, so they must be smart shoppers for players.

“We don’t have draft capital to burn. We don’t.”

2028 draft capital

Harbaugh did not rule out using 2028 draft capital for deals that meet certain criteria.

“For me, it wouldn’t want to be a one-on-one kind of thing.”
