In brief
Ohio State was 309-0 when leading by 17 at halftime. Then Arch Manning got his rematch in Austin. Texas erased a 17-point halftime hole against the No. 1 team, the first time in Ohio State history that lead ever collapsed. Originally reported by Newsweek.
A rematch he needed

Last season Manning had one of his worst games as Texas lost 14-7 at Ohio State in the opener. Saturday night in Austin was the do-over.
Buckeyes ran away early
Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith put Ohio State up 20-3 at the half. Texas had almost nothing going against one of the country's best defenses.
“The Buckeyes came out firing”
Twenty-one in the fourth

Manning woke the offense up and Texas scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, winning 24-23 in front of more than 105,000 fans.
309-0, until now
Ohio State had never lost a game it led by 17 or more at halftime. The Buckeyes were 309-0 in that spot before Saturday.
“It marked the first time in program history that Ohio State has lost a game after leading by 17 or more points at halftime.”
Two records in one night
It was also the first time Ohio State lost after leading by 20 or more through three quarters. Both marks fell in the same game.
The schedule gets harder
Texas entered at No. 4 and should climb after toppling the top team. Next up: UTSA, then Tennessee, then Oklahoma, Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
What it means
Texas erased a 17-point halftime hole against the No. 1 team, the first time in Ohio State history that lead ever collapsed.
