In brief
A 6-foot-3 Kings prospect picked a fight with the tallest player ever drafted, and it went exactly how you'd expect. Liam Lefebvre fought the tallest player in NHL Draft history and lost to reach, but the willingness is the whole story. Originally reported by OutKick.
Nobody fights this guy

Alexander Karmanov stands 7-foot-1 and weighs 280 pounds. Kings prospect Liam Lefebvre decided to drop the gloves with him anyway.
“Most guys won't try to pick a fight with a 7-foot-1, 280-pound hockey player.”
A hit set it off
Late in the third of San Jose's 8-1 rout, Karmanov flattened Kings defenseman Jakub Dvorak in the neutral zone. Dvorak stayed down with an upper-body injury.
Then Lefebvre stepped up

Several Kings swarmed Karmanov after the hit. Lefebvre, the 46th overall pick, was the one who actually answered for his teammate.
“Then Lefebvre stepped up.”
Big man, little brother
Lefebvre is listed at 6-foot-3, large by any normal standard. Next to Karmanov he looked like somebody's kid brother.
“He looked like somebody's little brother.”
Reach decided it

Karmanov used his enormous reach advantage and Lefebvre went down to the ice. Karmanov skated toward the box waving his arms, asking the San Jose crowd for more noise.
Karmanov shrugged it off
The Moldova-born defenseman went 201st overall in June, the tallest player ever drafted into the league. He described the fight as routine business.
“I asked the guy if he wanted to go. Yeah, we went.”
Here's the gist
Liam Lefebvre fought the tallest player in NHL Draft history and lost to reach, but the willingness is the whole story.
