A dead A/C, Paige Spiranac's cabin pick and two upsets

In brief
One sweaty football Sunday: golf course confessions, top-ten teams falling and readers sending in their grill work. Two weeks in, the preseason top ten is already wrong. Oregon and Ohio State both lost games they were supposed to win, and their schedules get soft right after. Originally reported by OutKick.
Sweating out the first Sunday
The A/C died Friday night and needs replacing, not fixing, so the weekend meant sleeping under a couple of fans in 86 degree heat. Worth it, because the NFL season starts today.
Paige meets her match

Spiranac's YouTube series pairs her with a guest for a one on one round. Last week it was comedian Andrew Santino, and the talk drifted well past golf.
The cabin question
Santino asked who she would take back to her cabin at the Celebrity Invitational if everyone there was single. She named Sarah Winter without much hesitation.
“Sarah Winter … she's the best looking one there”
Dabbled in college
Asked if she had ever dated a woman, Spiranac said no, but that college was a different story. Asked if she would date one now, she said she thinks so.
“dabbled in college … Hooked up.”
Oklahoma State gets even
Oregon hung 69-3 on the Cowboys in Eugene last September. This time Oklahoma State hosted in Stillwater and sent the No. 6 Ducks home with the worst upset loss of the week.
Oregon's next big test
Portland State comes to town next, which is not a test at all. That is the joke, and the point: a top six team should not be losing to an unranked host.
“Can they beat a team of Portland State's caliber after losing to an unranked Oklahoma State?”
Ohio State blows twenty
The No. 1 Buckeyes coughed up a 20-point fourth quarter lead in Austin and lost by a point to Arch Manning and No. 4 Texas. Kent State is the get-right game.
Is Texas back
Beating the top ranked team at home, after trailing by 20, is the kind of win that settles an offseason argument. The verdict here is a shrug in the right direction.
“We have to ask after that win over Ohio State. Is Texas back? They might be.”
Michigan finds a win
The Wolverines got their first of the season at home against No. 11 Oklahoma, clock jokes included. UTEP visits Ann Arbor next, so we will learn nothing.
“You never know where a hidden clock will pop up next.”
Glyn's pre-game plate

A reader sent in his pre-game meal and it got the stamp of approval. The standing request is more of them, every week, all season.
“Glyn, there are much worse ways to pre-game.”
Cheeseburger duty again

Gen X Warren M. took over the grill after his father-in-law made one too many Old Fashioneds. The burgers landed. His FAU Owls did not get their miracle against Florida.
“If I ever get tired of cheeseburgers go get help.”
The takeaway
Two weeks in, the preseason top ten is already wrong. Oregon and Ohio State both lost games they were supposed to win, and their schedules get soft right after.
