Snap Specs Smart Glasses Review
Snap's new smart glasses offer high performance but struggle with fit and comfort.
In brief
Snap's new smart glasses offer high performance but struggle with fit and comfort. Snap's Specs smart glasses provide a floating user interface and strong performance but have poor fit and comfort for most users. Originally reported by PCMAG.
Snap Specs smart glasses
Snap brought its Specs smart glasses to Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit and I wore them for a bit.
High performance features
The Specs pack a Qualcomm processor, multiple cameras supporting six degrees of freedom, waveguide displays, and don't require a nearby phone.
Price and expectations
They cost $2,195 and expectations are sky high for that price.
User interface experience
The floating user interface hangs suspended at mid-distance from eyes and is easy to resize and navigate with pinch gestures.
Display quality
The screens have solid resolution and a usable 51-degree viewing angle with no issues seeing through them.
Fit and comfort issues
The glasses are thick and heavy with all sizes pinching temples and feeling slimy in hands.
What's next
We expect to publish a full review soon and recommend other smart glasses instead.
What to remember
Snap's Specs smart glasses provide a floating user interface and strong performance but have poor fit and comfort for most users.
