Burnham wants EU return in his lifetime
Prime Minister Andy Burnham told ITV's Good Morning Britain Monday he wants the UK to rejoin the EU within his lifetime, but will not move ahead of public opinion on the issue.
“I'm going to be honest and say, in my lifetime, I would like to see that happen but I am not going to move ahead of the public.”
Not in this parliament, Burnham says
Burnham ruled out reversing Brexit in the current parliament, saying Britain is way, way away from rejoining right now. He wants practical steps to improve the existing relationship instead.
“I'm not proposing rejoining in this Parliament. We're way, way away from that at this particular moment in time.”
Brexit has weakened the UK, Burnham argues

The Prime Minister said the 2016 referendum promises have not been delivered. We got a harder Brexit than proposed, he said, weakening the economy and immigration control.
“We got a harder Brexit than was proposed in the referendum campaign. It's weakened our economy.”
Farage vows to fight EU return plans
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage called rejoining the bloc utterly moronic and said Brexiteers would win a referendum on reversing Brexit very comfortably, vowing to fight again.
“Rejoining the bloc would be utterly moronic and argued Brexiteers would win a referendum on reversing the result very comfortably.”
