Witkoff praises Putin in St. Petersburg
US special envoy Steve Witkoff told Vladimir Putin during face-to-face talks on Wednesday that he is a humanitarian. Witkoff said Putin talks so much about President Trump being humanitarian, and that Putin is one too.
“You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again.”
Witkoff seeks trilateral peace talks
Witkoff met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo on Tuesday. He is expected to propose trilateral talks between Zelenskyy, Trump, and Putin to bring Moscow and Kyiv to the negotiating table.
Vance defends envoy's diplomatic approach
Vice President J.D. Vance said Witkoff's praise secured the release of Stephen Hubbard, a retired teacher detained by Russia since two thousand twenty-two. Vance said Witkoff is a diplomat doing his job to get results.
