Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine announced the end of their marriage in a joint Instagram statement on Saturday, after two decades together.
“After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way.”
Three boys at the center
The statement put sons Calem, Edan and Amory first, and said nothing about the marriage could be diminished by how it ended.
“We grew up together. We built a life and a family together.”
Friendship over fallout
Rather than trading blame, the two framed the next phase as co-parenting work and asked for room to grow into who they are becoming.
“The best gift we can give one another - and our boys - right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.”
