In brief
A 47-year-old Bucks County tradition fills the walkways with handmade scarecrows, and the big weekend is free. Scarecrows in the Village runs free through Oct. 26, with the two-day festival on Sept. 19-20 as the peak weekend to go. Originally reported by PhillyVoice.
Scarecrows line the walkways

More than 150 handmade scarecrows are on display throughout Peddler's Village in New Hope, Pa., the Bucks County shopping destination's signature fall attraction.
47 years and counting

The 47th annual Scarecrows in the Village is already underway. It stays up through Monday, Oct. 26, giving you seven weeks to wander through.
Free to walk through
The outdoor display costs nothing to see. Every scarecrow is made by Philly-area residents and organizations, not by a vendor.

Pumpkins, axes and a bounce house

Build one to take home
For $40, a workshop kit gets you a life-size scarecrow with clothing, decorations, straw and instructions. Sessions run several times each festival day, plus again on Sept. 26.
Sunday adds a petting zoo
Animals arrive Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Music shifts across the weekend: Borderline and 2D on Saturday, then Station Hill Bluegrass, the Give & Take Jugglers and Lost Crickets String Band.
Bacon on a stick
Outdoor food vendors include Kono Pizza Buck Co., Bacon on a Stick, The Lucky Cupcake Company and FresCafe Food Co. Free Will Brewing, Hewn Spirits and Nissley Vineyards pour drinks.
