The Eagles' left guard admits he was a liability against Washington, and now a knee injury shuts him down for at least a month.
In brief
The Eagles' left guard admits he was a liability against Washington, and now a knee injury shuts him down for at least a month. Dickerson played through a knee bone bruise he knew wasn't right, and the Eagles are now down their starting left guard for at least four weeks. Originally reported by PhillyVoice.
Now we know why

Dickerson looked badly off against the Commanders in Week 1. An injury report the next day explained the tape.
Beaten all afternoon
Washington's aggressive pass rush ran through the 27-year-old guard, who fought his own mobility the entire game.
Eagles won anyway

Philadelphia took it 24-22, close enough to wonder how the offense would have moved with a healthy left guard.
A bone bruise in the knee
Monday brought the reported diagnosis. For a lineman who lives on leverage and lateral push, that is about the worst place to hurt.
Off the 53, onto IR
Per the Inquirer's Jeff McLane, Dickerson comes off the 53-man roster and shuts down football activities for at least four weeks.
He owned it on air
Speaking to WIP on Monday, Dickerson went straight at the criticism instead of around it.
“I was a complete liability yesterday. Again, that was my fault.”
He'd warned them in camp
Dickerson said he had told the team back in camp that he shouldn't be on the field until he felt healthy.
“I know I said earlier in camp, I shouldn't be out there until I feel healthy.”
Kendall gets first crack
Drew Kendall is the likely replacement at left guard, the next man in a line that has to hold for a month.
Watch Willie Lampkin
The undersized Lampkin impressed in training camp and could steal guard snaps once the rotation settles.
The bottom line
Dickerson played through a knee bone bruise he knew wasn't right, and the Eagles are now down their starting left guard for at least four weeks.
