Week 1 already wrecked some fantasy rosters

Nine injuries from Week 1 that just changed what your lineup should look like.

In brief

Nine injuries from Week 1 that just changed what your lineup should look like. Practice reports this week decide more of your Week 2 lineup than any matchup does. Watch the questionable guys and have a backup ready before kickoff. Originally reported by PhillyVoice.

Attrition decides seasons

Attrition decides seasons

The NFL team still standing in February is usually the healthiest one. Your fantasy roster works the same way, and Week 1 just handed out the first round of damage.

“The NFL is a league of attrition.”

A.J. Brown is gone a while

Brown's ankle injury from Wednesday night put him on IR for at least six games. The Patriots offense is short-handed, and so is anyone who drafted him early.

Go shopping for Brown's targets

Romeo Doubs is the first call if he is sitting on waivers. Demario Douglas and Mack Hollins are the next names worth a bid in deeper leagues.

Zay Flowers, great then hurt

Flowers opened with five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, then left late with a hamstring issue. He is questionable for Week 2, so watch his practice reps and line up a fallback.

“This is one of those delicate situations for fantasy managers”

McConkey took a big hit

The Chargers wideout had 82 yards and a score before a hard hit knocked him out Sunday. The chest injury could be trouble, and practice status will tell the real story.

“Ladd McConkey's practice status will be worth watching this week.”

Two rookie receivers shelved

D.J. Stribling badly hurt his ankle in Australia and hits IR for at least a month. Ja'Kobi Lane broke his wrist in his debut after one catch and misses about the same stretch.

Kyler Murray lasted five throws

His first start for Minnesota ended in the concussion protocol after five pass attempts, with Carson Wentz finishing the game. Murray needs monitoring all week.

Darnold out 4-6 weeks

A glute injury sidelines the Seahawks starter for a month or more. Drew Lock takes over under center for the defending champs, which makes him a real streaming option.

Brian Thomas has a bigger problem

He carries a shoulder designation, but he returned to the game and looked fine. Three targets is the number that should actually worry you.

“his lack of targets (he had just three) is more concerning than his shoulder”

Okonkwo's hamstring lingers

The Commanders tight end pulled up against the Eagles and did not return. Soft tissue injuries drag on, so track him closely before you start him.

“It's a soft tissue injury so one worth watching closely.”

At a glance

Practice reports this week decide more of your Week 2 lineup than any matchup does. Watch the questionable guys and have a backup ready before kickoff.
