IDRIS Innovation Lab Launch

Rutgers University, Newark launched an Innovation Lab through its Institute for Data, Research and Innovation Science (IDRIS) in October 2024.

Lab Purpose

The facility brings together students, faculty, researchers, and industry professionals to address urban community and societal challenges.

Official Opening

IDRIS officially opened its Innovation Lab on October 21, 2026, providing the first dedicated space for research collaboration and public events.

Lab Design

Flexible furniture and seating allow reconfiguration for workshops, research discussions, collaborative projects, and presentations.

Opening Ceremony

IDRIS Director Fay Cobb Payton and Chancellor Tonya Smith-Jackson participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour.

AI Process Hack
