Netflix released a trailer for Hunting Gary Glitter, an investigative docuseries into the disgraced glam rocker's history of sexually abusing minors.

“Yeah, well, I've still got a few secrets.”

1970s pop star with dark secrets

Gary Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was a hugely popular British glam rocker in the 1970s who sang hits like "Do You Wanna Touch Me" and "I Love You Love Me Love."

Conviction and child pornography

In 1999, Gadd's popularity collapsed after numerous allegations of child sexual abuse and a conviction for possession of child pornography.

Fleeing across continents

Fleeing across continents

Gadd was jailed in Vietnam in 2006 for sexually abusing two girls, then convicted again in 2015 for abusing three more. He spent years hopping between Vietnam, Cuba, and Cambodia to avoid prosecution.

Reincarcerated after brief release

In 2023, Gadd was released on probation but quickly reincarcerated after violating the terms of his release. Police did not publicly explain how he violated the conditions.

How he exploited his fame

The docuseries follows investigators who exposed how Glitter used his popularity and fanbase to pursue and abuse multiple girls, with first-person interviews detailing his crimes and decades on the run.
