Perez Hilton livestreamed acts of self-harm in early August and was hospitalized after an overdose. His family has now given the first real update since.

He's in residential treatment

No phone, no laptop

No phone, no laptop

Hilton has no access to his devices and only limited contact with family and friends, so he can focus fully on his mental health and recovery.

The rumors are false

His family shot down viral claims directly. He has not lost ten years of memory, does not think it's 2016, and is not confused about where he is.

“He is lucid and communicates clearly with his family.”

Nobody authorized those claims

The family says he does not have stitches and is not covered in gauze, and that no relative or authorized spokesperson was the source of any of it.

“No family member, and no one authorized to speak on Perez's behalf, provided these false claims.”

What happened on Aug. 4

A fire rescue team treated Hilton at his Miami home for multiple lacerations and an overdose. He was hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act.
