Sun Goddess Wins Cheveley Park Stakes

Sun Goddess recorded a third Group One success with an emphatic display in the Cheveley Park Stakes, in a record-setting time.

O'Brien's Seventh Win

Aidan O'Brien's star filly Sun Goddess gave Aidan O'Brien a seventh Tattersalls Sceptre Sessions Cheveley Park Stakes in what was an appropriately red-hot renewal at Newmarket.

Race Performance

Sun Goddess and Senorita Bonita travelled in tandem in midfield as Snowing and Moonrise set a strong pace up the six furlongs of the Rowley Mile.

Sun Goddess Wins

Sun Goddess found plenty for Ryan Moore on meeting the rising ground, with the 5-6 favourite engaging top gear to win by a going-away length from Libertango, making it her third top-level win of the campaign.

O'Brien's Comments

O'Brien said: 'That is a massive run after winning over seven furlongs (Moyglare Stud Stakes) on soft ground, it was some change today. It was a massive test and she's passed it.'

Sun Goddess's Unique Qualities

O'Brien described Sun Goddess as a 'freak' with mental capacity and physical attributes to match, saying she looks like a three-year-old despite being a two-year-old filly racing at the top level every day.

“She looks a freak doesn't she to be doing what she is doing and you have to remember she's a two-year-old filly racing at the top level every day.”
