Howey's Concerns
Howey worried Robbins' casting would be a Tom Cruise-as-Jack-Reacher situation.
Robbins' Height
Robbins stands 6 feet 5 inches, but Howey's books describe Bernard as smaller and weasel-like.
Howey's Reaction
Howey said he was 'so delighted' Robbins 'killed that role' but initially 'WTF' about casting.
“Yes! I mean, I'm so delighted now, because he's a legend and he killed that role. But when I heard they cast someone as large as him, I was like WTF?”
Howey's Book Change
Howey suggested changing Bernard's description to be 'super tall and ruggedly handsome'.
“This role [of Bernard], man, I've got to go back in the books and change Bernard's description to being, like, super tall and ruggedly handsome, because [Robbins] is Bernard.”
