Leadership after rain delays

Three golfers share top spot after heavy rain caused five hours of lost play on Thursday.

Hidalgo, Meronk, Luiten lead

Angel Hidalgo, Adrian Meronk and Joost Luiten each carded eight-under-par 136 to move to the top of the leaderboard.

Luiten squanders lead chance

Luiten missed a three-foot putt after finding rough and landing in a greenside bunker on the penultimate hole.

“Everything went bad (on that hole). The long day and tiredness just got to me a bit at the end.”

Meronk's consistent play

Meronk missed an eight-foot putt on the final hole but remained the most consistent player with two bogey-free rounds.

“Playing smart off the tee, and placing the ball in good spots was the key to negotiating the challenging course.”
