AI that designs its own chips
Ricursive Intelligence's founders will discuss how AI could accelerate chip design from years to weeks at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026.
In brief
Ricursive Intelligence's founders will discuss how AI could accelerate chip design from years to weeks at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Ricursive Intelligence co-founders Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 about AI systems that design chips faster, potentially accelerating hardware…
The chip design bottleneck
Designing a chip currently takes two to three years. Ricursive Intelligence wants to reduce that cycle to a matter of weeks using AI.
What Ricursive Intelligence does
The startup is developing AI that can design chips, learn from the process, and improve the next design, potentially accelerating development of hardware that powers increasingly capable AI.
The founders' track record

Before founding Ricursive Intelligence, Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini co-led AlphaChip at Google, an AI system that could generate chip layouts in hours rather than the much longer process required of human designers.
The founders' backgrounds
Goldie holds a PhD in computer science from Stanford and was named one of MIT Technology Review's thirty five Innovators Under thirty five. Mirhoseini is an assistant professor of computer science at Stanford.
Ricursive's rapid funding
Ricursive launched in late twenty twenty five. Within four months, the company raised three hundred thirty five million dollars at a four billion dollar valuation, including a three hundred million dollar Series A. Nvidia is among its investors.
The AI-hardware feedback loop

AI helps design better hardware, better hardware supports more powerful AI, and those systems can then help develop what comes next. Ricursive's system is intended to learn across different chips.
Closing the development gap
AI models have advanced rapidly, but the hardware underneath them operates on a different development cycle. Ricursive is betting that AI can help narrow that gap and unlock new chip architectures.
Disrupt 2026 session details

Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on October thirteen to fifteen at Moscone West in San Francisco. More than ten thousand founders, investors, operators, and tech leaders are expected.
What it means
Ricursive Intelligence co-founders Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 about AI systems that design chips faster, potentially accelerating hardware development for more powerful artificial intelligence.
