Apple announces HomeView smart hub
Apple will announce a new smart home hub called the HomeView on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The device runs Siri and includes a display and an A eighteen chip.
Two models for different spaces
The HomeView will reportedly be available in two models. One is designed for countertops and the other to be mounted on walls. Both let customers control their other smart home devices.
Apple's biggest smart home bet yet
This would be Apple's most serious bet on the smart home to date, after it failed to get much traction for its HomeKit software framework or its HomePod smart speaker.
Apple expands smart home lineup
On Tuesday, Apple will also unveil updated versions of the Apple TV set-top box and the HomePod mini. Apple plans to announce a partnership with LG to create a smart lock, thermostat and doorbell.
