Sepsis kills millions of children yearly
Sepsis, an acute inflammation triggered by infection, is a leading cause of childhood mortality, claiming roughly three million children under the age of five annually.
Efferon enters the fight

Efferon, a startup selected as one of TechCrunch Disrupt twenty twenty-twenty-six's Startup Battlefield two hundred, has developed a medical device that lowers organ failure rates and accelerates recovery in children.
How the device works
When antibiotics cannot stop the immune system's overreaction in sepsis, Efferon's devices filter blood to remove deadly toxins. The company absorbs both endotoxins and cytokines, unlike other devices on the market.
“In a fire, there are two things: the flame itself and smoke that it produces.”
Pediatric device gets approval
Efferon NEO, designed specifically for children's lower blood volume, received a CE mark in April, making it the first multimodal blood purification device engineered for pediatric sepsis.
Global rollout underway

Efferon NEO is used in intensive care units across thirty countries, including European hospitals, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand. The company is preparing to file for FDA approval.
Revenue growth and next steps
Efferon is on track to hit two million dollars in annualized revenue by the end of twenty twenty-six. Co-founder Dima Romashin says true success is measured by every child who gets to go home.
