Meta enters the AI amulet market

Meta has launched Muse Charm, an AI wearable designed to connect users to its personal AI agent Muse. The device was revealed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg at Meta's annual Connect event.
A palm-sized totem with a tiny screen
Muse Charm is a pocket-sized device featuring a small screen that displays an avatar representing the Muse agent. Users can attach it to a keychain or carry it in their pockets.
Talk without unlocking your phone
Users tap a fingerprint sensor on the device to start talking to Muse without unlocking a phone or opening an app. Zuckerberg said this would be the fastest way to access Muse for those not wearing glasses.
“So if you're not wearing glasses, this is going to be by far the fastest way to talk to your Muse and to show what's going on around you.”
The Muse agent inside is called Jolly

The device houses Meta's Muse agent, embodied by a cute digital avatar known internally as Jolly. The entire real-time voice and avatar experience fits into the keychain-sized totem.
“We packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack, into something that fits on a keychain and is always available to talk to.”
Tamagotchi vibes, low-stakes experiment
The device has a quasi-Tamagotchi feel, designed to keep users always connected to Meta's software. It represents a relatively low-stakes way for Meta to experiment with AI wearables.
Ready to ship in December
Zuckerberg said Meta's team still needs to finalize laying out the components. The devices are promised to be ready to ship in time for the holidays in December.
