Why insurance brokers need help
Ninety-five percent of insurance in the U.S. and worldwide is still sold through human agents. Sankhla told TechCrunch the process is very manual, creating a huge opportunity in this massive industry.
“Ninety-five percent of insurance in the U.S. and worldwide is still sold through [human] agents, and when you look at sort of like how the process is today, it's very manual.”
The complexity of commercial insurance

Outmarket focuses on commercial insurance, where policies involve deep nuances and custom tailoring. There are over two hundred fifty different types of coverages depending on business, risk, and coverage needs.
“There are over 250 different types of coverages that are out there, depending on what business you are and what risk you have and what you want to cover.”
What Outmarket's AI does
Outmarket's AI automates time-consuming administrative tasks, helping brokers quickly evaluate and recommend the best policies. This lets them focus on work requiring human touch, such as responding to customers during emergencies.
Fast growth for a slow industry
Outmarket has attracted over three hundred insurance agencies, including twenty-five percent among the top one hundred, since launching a new product fourteen months ago. Sankhla said this is quite fast growth for insurance.
“For insurance, which is typically not a fast-moving industry, it's quite fast growth.”
