Titan OS secures $46 million

Barcelona-based smart TV operating system maker Titan OS announced forty-six million dollars in new funding on Wednesday, consisting of both equity and debt from BlackRock and existing investors.

Total funding reaches $110 million

Titan OS has now raised one hundred ten million dollars in total. The company secured fifty-eight million dollars last year and chose to raise more to be ambitious about partnerships and geographic expansion.

User base grows to 30 million

User base grows to 30 million

Titan OS now serves thirty million users, up from eighteen million last year. The company is a sales partner for TiVo in some regions and works with Tubi in the UK.

New TV manufacturer partnerships

Titan OS added Sharp, AOC, Vestel, and Skyworth as partners this year. Philips switched to Titan OS and ditched Google TV for its two thousand twenty-six models, marking a major success.

Expansion and new offices

Titan OS increased headcount to two hundred fifty people and opened an office in London focused on advertising. The company already has offices in Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Taipei.

Content discovery and AI focus

Content discovery and AI focus

Titan OS plans to use interface tweaks and AI to improve content discovery and reduce search time. The company is impartial in discovery unlike Google, which channels users to YouTube.

“We do not have our own content offering. Like Google is trying to channel people to YouTube. We do not have that, and we are impartial in our role in content discovery.”

Hardware costs drive partnerships

TV manufacturers face rising chip costs from the AI boom and slowing gadget sales, making them rely on revenue-sharing partners like Titan OS for long-term profitability.

“The TV hardware industry is not a very profitable business. That's why they are so reliant on partners like Titanos that share revenue after the sale of the TV.”

The big picture

Titan OS raised forty-six million dollars in equity and debt to expand its smart TV operating system globally and attract more TV manufacturer partners.
