Trump rebrands AI as SI
On September twenty-second, President Trump told the UN General Assembly the US government would call artificial intelligence super intelligence, or SI.
Executive order makes it official
A week later Trump signed Executive Order fourteen thousand four hundred thirty-four, telling federal agencies to swap in the new terms and saying the executive branch will not acknowledge the use of artificial intelligence and…
“will not acknowledge the use of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI.'”
Slovenia's .si domain matches the acronym

Slovenia's country code dot S I has been in use since nineteen ninety-two. Anyone can register a dot S I name without a Slovenian address, and it costs far less than dot A I.
Registration surge begins immediately

Register dot S I recorded three thousand five hundred fifteen new dot S I domains in all of August and forty-six thousand sixty-six in September, about thirteen times as many.
Peak registrations hit in early October
On October ninth twenty twenty-six, Register dot S I's live counter showed nineteen thousand five hundred forty-one new dot S I names registered in the preceding twenty-four hours, roughly five times pre-order daily pace.
India edges out the United States
Hostinger data shows India registered three thousand one hundred seventy-four dot S I names against three thousand one hundred thirty-five from the US, a gap of just thirty-nine across nine days.
Morocco surprises as third largest buyer

Morocco came a distant third with six hundred seventy-eight registrations, ahead of the UK at four hundred twenty-five, Canada at four hundred nine, Germany at three hundred seventy-four, and the UAE at three hundred sixty-three.
Short names dominate the registrations

Among classified names, short names led with one thousand five hundred fifty-four registrations, followed by tech-themed names at one thousand forty and explicitly AI-themed names at three hundred seventy-two.
Speculators list domains for resale
Netcraft found that just over half of the dot S I names registered at Dynadot between Trump's Truth Social poll and his UN speech were promptly listed on Dynadot's resale marketplace.
Cheap registration enables mass hoarding
Hostinger charges eleven dollars ninety-nine for the first year and sixteen dollars ninety-nine to renew, while Register dot S I takes ten euros per domain, allowing speculators to hoard hundreds of names cheaply.
Survival depends on SI staying official

The real question is how many names survive their first renewal in late twenty twenty-seven. If SI stays a White House term while the industry keeps saying AI, most speculative registrations will quietly lapse.
In short
India's registrations of Slovenia's .si domain slightly outpaced the US after Trump rebranded artificial intelligence as super intelligence, sparking global speculation in short domain names.
