Ultralight laptop packs serious power

Japanese electronics maker Mouse Computer has introduced the X2, a compact notebook weighing 981g with a 12.2-inch display and AMD Ryzen AI processors.
Three processor options for different needs
Buyers can choose between a Ryzen 5 216 with six cores, a Ryzen AI 5 340 with six cores, or a Ryzen AI 7 350 with eight cores split between Zen 5 and Zen 5c units.
Top chip rivals Intel's flagship
The Ryzen AI 7 350 approaches Intel's Core Ultra 9 185H in combined multi-threaded and synthetic benchmark scores, according to early comparisons.
Display and battery impress for size

The 12.2-inch display runs at 1920 by 1200 resolution and reportedly covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Battery life reaches roughly 12.5 hours during video playback.
Memory upgradeable, storage expandable
The laptop frame measures 277.1 mm wide, 210.2 mm deep, and 19 mm tall, retaining a single unoccupied SODIMM slot for RAM upgrades from 16 GB to 32 GB.
Pricing set for Japanese market only
The Ryzen AI 5 variant costs yen 239,800, roughly one thousand five hundred forty-five dollars. The Ryzen AI 7 costs yen 259,000, about one thousand six hundred seventy dollars.
Sales begin October, Japan only for now
Sales of the X2 will begin sequentially from October via Mouse Computer's online store, confined to the Japanese market. Customers elsewhere would need import services to acquire a unit.
