In brief
Zay Flowers hit 150 yards before his hamstring gave out, and the Ravens' Week 1 receiver room thinned fast in Indianapolis. Baltimore's passing game opened at full speed and ended the day down to Bateman, Moore and Wester after Flowers and Lane went out. Originally reported by The Banner.
A 49-yard opening play
Zay Flowers caught a 49-yard pass on the very first play of the Ravens season against the Colts. He finished with five catches for 150 receiving yards.
Then the hamstring went
Flowers was sidelined Sunday with a hamstring injury and did not return. He had a hamstring issue in training camp too.
He told the sideline himself
Flowers spent the final minutes of the first half standing beside general manager Eric DeCosta, gesturing at his hamstrings. He came out for the second half in a baseball hat and was downgraded later.
The offense stalled without him
Flowers had five of the team's 12 catches and was the only receiver besides rookie Ja'Kobi Lane to catch anything before he went out. The momentum went with him.
Lane's wrist, and a wiped-out score
Lane hurt his wrist on the first drive of the second half. He finished with one catch for 11 yards plus a touchdown erased by a holding penalty.
Three receivers left standing
With Elijah Sarratt and Devontez Walker inactive as healthy scratches, Baltimore was down to Rashod Bateman, Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester. Cornerback TJ Tampa also left with a knee injury inside three minutes.
What to remember
Baltimore's passing game opened at full speed and ended the day down to Bateman, Moore and Wester after Flowers and Lane went out.
