Residents complained that although mining companies handed over private land to the district administration years ago, neither residential sites nor houses have been allotted or constructed.

Choudhary said the process of sanctioning residential sites and houses is complete and construction works will commence in December with essential infrastructure alongside proper housing.

Employment and skill development

The state government will create opportunities for employment, education and skill development for youth in mining-affected families to improve their socio-economic conditions.

Job fair for camp residents

Urban Development Cell Project Director Manohar said a special job fair will be organised for unemployed young men and women from the thirteen camps, with priority given to mining-affected families.

Community halls for residents only

Choudhary directed officials to prevent unauthorised use of community halls and ensure they are used exclusively for activities benefiting local residents including training programmes and public welfare initiatives.
