Gogoi accuses CM of contempt

Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of encouraging people to protest against judges and witnesses in the Zubeen Garg death case.

CM flags threat to his family

On November sixth, twenty twenty-six, the Chief Minister said a group threatened to besiege his house over the case and warned he would report the threat to the Supreme Court.

Gogoi denies targeting judiciary

Gogoi said his protests targeted the Assam government's handling of the investigation, not the courts. He said the Chief Minister advised people to confront one hundred sixty witnesses.

“I have not said a single word against the court or Judges.”

SIT failed to collect evidence

Gogoi accused the Assam Police Special Investigation Team of failing to collect evidence from the scene of Garg's death in Singapore on September nineteenth, twenty twenty-five.

CM's earlier murder claim questioned

Gogoi recalled the Chief Minister's November twenty twenty-five Assembly statement describing Garg's death as a planned murder, before the April twenty twenty-six election.

“How could the Chief Minister make such categorical assertions before the election and subsequently insist that only the judiciary can deliver justice?”

Gogoi demands CBI investigation

Gogoi renewed his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe, saying the Chief Minister insisted on the SIT to prevent the case from going beyond state government control.
