Nandana, a college student from Iringal, was killed on Tuesday evening when the Vande Bharat Express hit her near the Iringal railway gate between Vadakara and Payyoli in Kozhikode district.
She was crossing the tracks
According to police sources, the accident occurred while Nandana was attempting to cross the railway tracks. The Vande Bharat Express was travelling towards Thiruvananthapuram when it struck her, killing her on the spot.
Student was home for holidays
Nandana was studying at a college in Angamaly and had returned home for the holidays when the accident happened on October twentieth, twenty twenty-six.
Body handed to relatives
Police and railway officials completed inquest procedures at the scene. Her body was handed over to relatives after post-mortem examination at Kozhikode District Hospital.
