Two companies sign aircraft partnership

Hyderabad-based GMR Aero Technic and Canada-based Corporation Logic Air Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on aircraft modification, engineering, certification and component obsolescence solutions.

Boeing 737NG gets navigation upgrades

Navigation and operational upgrades for Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft are among key collaboration areas, along with engine indication system modernisation for ATR and Dash 8 aircraft.

Modifications during scheduled maintenance

The partnership will explore aircraft modifications incorporated during scheduled maintenance, aircraft redelivery programmes and transition checks, plus cabin electrical and structural modifications.

Dash 8 freighter conversions included

Additional modifications for the Dash 8 Q400 fleet, freighter conversions and aircraft transition support are also covered under the agreement between the two companies.

Combining expertise and infrastructure

Ashok Gopinath, president of GMR Aero Technic, said the partnership combines Logic Air's modification expertise with GMR Aero Technic's MRO infrastructure to deliver integrated solutions efficiently.

“By combining Logic Air's aircraft modification, engineering and certification expertise with GMR Aero Technic's MRO infrastructure and execution capabilities, we aim to offer integrated solutions that can be delivered efficiently alongside maintenance and transition programs.”

Targeting Middle East and Asia Pacific

Both companies intend to pursue opportunities with airlines, aircraft lessors and cargo operators, particularly in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions, drawing on Logic Air's certification expertise.
