Stallone's surprise appointment

Stallone revealed he didn't sign up for Trump's special Hollywood ambassadorship role.

Trump's Hollywood ambassadorship

Trump named Stallone, Jon Voight, and Mel Gibson as special envoys to bring Hollywood back bigger, better, and stronger.

Stallone learned via TV

Stallone said he discovered his appointment while watching TV, asking 'What? Really?'

“Well, it just happened... I was watching TV one night and they go, 'So Stallone and Mel Gibson and Jon Voight will be...'”

Stallone's concerns

Stallone called Hollywood 'feudal states' with 'little kingdoms' and said it wouldn't work with Mel Gibson and Jon Voight.

“Hollywood, I guess it's like feudal states. They have their little kingdoms. You don't go in and tell six studios how to do things.”

Stallone's response to Trump

Stallone thanked Trump but said 'it's impossible' and left the role.

“I said thank you and ciao, because it's impossible”

Voight's tax credit plans

Voight said Hollywood could see an immediate explosion of energy with federal film tax credits.

“If we get on an even keel with the rest of the world's tax benefits, if we get that break, there's going to be an explosion of energy”
